Banana Toffee

Ingredients to make Banana Toffee

  • maida/ Flour 4 tbsp
  • Corn flour 2 tbsp
  • 1/2 tsp oil
  • 1 big sized banana
  • oil for frying
  • 1 /2 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp corn flour for dusting
  • Ice water with ice cubes in a bowl

How to make Banana Toffee

  1. Take a bowl, add the maida/flour, corn flour and 1/2 tsp oil. Pour in water and mix well without lumps to form a smooth batter like Bhaji. Keep it aside.
  2. Slice the banana and keep aside.
  3. Heat the oil, dip the banana slices into the batter and slowly slide them into the hot oil. Fry until they are brown in colour.
  4. Place the sugar in a heavy bottomed pan over medium heat and cook until caramel forms. Remove it and add the fried bananas to the sugar caramel to coat it.
  5. Drop into a large bowl of iced water to caramel.
  6. Then drain and serve with ice cream!
