Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. chicken 1 kg
  2. For gravy-
  3. 6-7 big onions sliced lengthwise
  4. 2 big tomatoes roughly chopped
  5. ginger garlic 2 teaspn(i am using crushed)
  6. 2 green chillies sliced half in middle
  7. turmeric pd 1 teaspn
  8. chilli pd 1 teaspn
  9. 3 teaspn( dry roast coriander jeera and black pepper pd)
  10. 2 bay leaf
  11. 2 big and 2 small cardamoms
  12. 5-6 laung
  13. 2 inch long cinnamon
  14. 1 javitri
  15. salt to taste
  16. for marinating chicken
  17. curd half cup
  18. 1 tablspn ginger garlic paste
  19. 1/2 teaspn each of turmeric chilli pd
  20. Garnishing
  21. Garam masala pd
  22. coriander leaves chopped


  1. 1.Marinate the chicken with ingredients and keep aside.
  2. 2.Heat oil in a kadahi or handi. Add all the whole spices like bayleaf cardamom cloves etc as listed in ingredients list. Fry for a minute.
  3. 3.Add slit green chilles and then onions. Fry till onion becomes golden brown in color.
  4. 4.add ginger garlic paste and fry for another 1 min or till the raw smell goes away and then add tomatoes and salt.

  6. 6.add the chicken and mix well..leave it to cook..stir in between.
  7. 7.cook till oil seperates.
  8. 8.I dont add water..just keep it semi dry but can adjust the consistency as per required.
  9. 9.Before adding water if want to add a garam masala pd and mix and cook for 1 min then garnish with coriander leaves..
