ABOUT Eggless Flan with Caramel sauce RECIPE

I made this for my 3 year old when he was down with fever and he saw this dish and wanted to eat it!

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 2 tbsp water
  2. 1/2 cup sugar
  3. 3/4 cup full cream milk
  4. 3/4 cup homemade curd
  5. 3/4 cup sweet condensed milk
  6. 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  7. 2 tbsp custard powder

Instructions

  1. To make the caramel sauce, in a pan heat water and sugar together. Mix it well and let it melt over medium heat.
  2. Bring it to boil and continue cooking till you get a nice caramel consistency and colour.
  3. Once you see that the caramel is ready, remove it from the heat immediately, otherwise it may get burnt.
  4. Pour this in the tin mould and make an even layer. Now pour in milk, curd and condensed milk in another bowl and mix it well together.
  5. Next add the vanilla essence and custard powder to it and mix it well. Add this custard mixture over the caramel slowly and fill it.
  6. Bring water to boil in a steamer and place the custard tin in a steamer. Then close the lid of the steamer.
  7. Let it cook for 25-30 mins or till a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Once cooked, invert it to a plate, pour extra caramel over it if you want.
  8. Serve it hot or cold as desired.
