ABOUT kashmiri Shufta RECIPE

Shufta is kasmiri dessert that is made up of a lot of dry fruits and sugar. This dessert is most ppreferred during winter.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1cup paneer
  2. 1cup almond
  3. 1cup cashew nuts
  4. 1cup walnuts
  5. 1cup raisins
  6. 1cup pistachio
  7. 1cup dry coconut sliced
  8. 3/4cup sugar
  9. 2tabs ghee
  10. 1tsp cardamom powder

Instructions

  1. Take a mixing bowl and add all dry fruits one by one into it. Wash and soak the dry fruits for an hour. Now drain water& keep aside.
  2. Heat ghee in a wok and let it spread over the pan and add paneer that is chopped into small cubes. Fry paneer until it turns a golden color. Transfer it into a bowl and keep aside.
  3. Add dry coconut to the same wok and fry coconut pieces till light brown. Transfer into a bowl and keep aside.
  4. Now add soaked dry fruits & nuts to the same pan. Fry it in the ghee for a minutes and add sugar and mix well fry for a minute by stirring.
  5. Then add little water to it and cook till sugar dissolved completly.
  6. Add fried paneer cubes and coconut slices as well. Saute it well.
  7. Cook then for 3 to 4 minute on low to medium flame.
  8. Serve hot or cold. it can be preserved for 2to3 days.
