ABOUT Sweet Tamarind Drink RECIPE

This chilled tamarind juice is a little sweet and a little tangy...It is used as a drink that brings relief from a sunstroke. It also has a great nutritive and medicinal value. It is so much better than drinking soft drinks, which unnecessarily increase your calorie intake and also adds no nutritive value.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. 1 cup tamarind fruits
  2. 1 cup jaggery
  3. 2 tsp cumin seeds powder
  4. 1 tsp black salt
  5. Few mint leaves
  6. Few ice cubes
  7. 500 ml water

Instructions

  1. Soak tamarind fruit in water and wash all the dirt...Remove all the seeds and boil it with a glass of water for 10 min .
  2. Use a blender and grind the boiled content.
  3. Strain the tamarind pulp leaving behind the waste particles and let it cool.
  4. Soak jaggery in water for 4-5 hrs to remove it's heatness..
  5. Mix the jaggery water,tamarind pulp in a jar .
  6. Add cumin seeds powder
  7. Add black salt,
  8. Add water,mint leaves,ice cubes in the jar and give a mix.
  9. Ready to serve cold with ice cubes...
