Peas Pulao is one pot flavourful pulao recipe which is very aromatic and tasty. We can prepare fresh or frozen peas. We can have it with raita's or with any rich gravy recipes, I had it with pomegranate Raita :yum:.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Basmathi rice - 1 1/2 glass
  2. Water - 2 1/2 glass
  3. Fresh green peas - 1 cup
  4. Onion - 2 big (roughly chopped)
  5. Green chilli - 3 (slit)
  6. Cashew nuts - 10
  7. salt as per taste
  8. Spices
  9. Cumin Seeds - 1 Tsp
  10. Elachi - 4 (small)
  11. Star anise - 2
  12. Cloves - 4
  13. Cinnamon stick - 1/2 inch
  14. Bay leaf - 2


  1. Clean basamati rice in water for 2 times without breaking and soak it for 20 min. Roughly chop onions and slit green chillies, keep it ready.
  2. Heat ghee in a pan fry cashew nuts till it changes color and take it into cup.
  3. In the same pan add cumin seeds fry for few seconds then add all other mentioned spices and fry till you get nice aroma on low flames.
  4. Now add slited green chillies fry it for a second then add onions and salt. Fry till onions changes color.
  5. Now add green Peas fry it for 5 minutes on low flames.
  6. Drain basmathi rice and add to the above saute it once and add 21/2 glasses of water. Mix everything well. Cook it on low flames by closing lid.
  7. You can also pressure cook it for 2 whistles.
  8. That's it very easy, aromatic and tasty Peas Pulao is ready to serve.
