Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup chana dal, soaked overnight
  2. Maida/Flour 1 and 1/2 cup
  3. 1 green chilli, finely chopped
  4. Coriander leaves- a handful, finely chopped
  5. Raisins- a handful
  6. Few cashews, broken
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Oil as required
  9. Red chilli powder- 1 tsp
  10. Turmeric Powder- 1/2 tsp
  11. Coriander Powder- 1/2 tsp
  12. Amchoor powder- 1/2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Grind the soaked chana dal as dry as possible.
  2. In a pan, add 1 table spoon oil and heat it, then add the mustard and cumin seeds in it.
  3. Add the green chillies, then add all the dry masalas except the amchoor powder. Then add the chana dal and mix it well together.
  4. Add salt to it and stir. Cover and cook for 5 mins.
  5. Next add the amchoor and cook on a high flame for a few minutes. Add the raisins, cashews and coriander. Then let it cool.
  6. To prepare the cover, mix the maida with a little salt, pepper powder and 2 tsp oil. Knead it well together.
  7. Roll poori shapes and fill it with a spoonful of the prepared mixture and make potli shapes.
  8. Deep fry them on a low flame.
  9. Serve them with tamarind chutney.
