ABOUT Lauki ka Halwa RECIPE

A favourite dish of my mother made from soft louki or ghiya using milk and khoya

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Half kg tender Ghiya or Lauki
  2. 1cup full cream milk
  3. 1tbspoon ghee
  4. 1cup khoya
  5. 5to 6 crushed almonds
  6. 5to 6 crushed Cashewnuts
  7. 8to 10 raisins
  8. 1tsp Elaichi powder

Instructions

  1. Wash,peel and grate Ghiya
  2. Take a pan..Add 1 tbspoon of ghee Add grated Ghiya to it.and cook till it becomes tender.Add milk to it.
  3. Keep cooking on a slow fire till ghiya becomes tender.Add khoya to it and keep stirring
  4. Add sugar and keep stirring continuously.It should not stick to the ground
  5. Add coarsely crushed almonds,cashewnut and raisins and elaichi powder to it.
  6. Keep stirring till the mixture becomes thick.Remove the pan from the stove Pour it in a serving dish and Enjoy.Keep it in the Refrigerator and use it when required
