Oats Khichdi is very healthy, nutritious and easy recipe made from Oats, Moong Dal and Vegetables.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Moong Dal- 1- cup
  2. Rolled Oats- 2- cup
  3. Cumin/Jeera- 1- tsp
  4. Ginger Garlic Paste- 1- tsp
  5. Green Chilli- 1- pc
  6. Chopped Onion- 1- pc
  7. Chopped Carrot- 1- pc
  8. Chopped Beans- 1- pc
  9. Turmeric- 1- tsp
  10. Ghee- 2- tsp
  11. Salt- 2- tsp
  12. Water- 5- cups


  1. Wash the moong dal and soak it for 5 minutes.
  2. Heat the ghee in pressure cooker and add cumin seeds, pinch of hing.
  3. Add curry leaves and ginger garlic paste, saute till it turns aromatic.
  4. Add chopped onions, green chilli and saute till they change colour to pinkish
  5. Add tomatoes and fry till they turn soft and mushy.
  6. Add carrot and beans and saute for about 2 to 3 minutes.
  7. Drain the water from 1 cup dal and add along with turmeric. fry for about 2 to 3 minutes.
  8. Add 2 cup of oats, salt and fry for about 2 minutes.
  9. Pour 4 cups of water and give a mix.
  10. On a medium flame, pressure cook for two whistle.
