Ingredients to make Modak

  • 2 cups maida/ Flour
  • 1 cup Rava/ semolina
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar
  • oil to fry
  • Handful of dry fruits, chopped
  • 4 tablespoon ghee
  • 2 tablespoon milk

How to make Modak

  1. In a bowl, take the maida, add 2 tbsp of hot ghee and knead it well with water.
  2. For the stuffing, in a frying pan, add ghee then add the rava and fry till it develops a sweet fragrance. Now add in the chopped dry fruits and turn off the gas.
  3. Now add milk and mix it well, cover with a lid and let it cool properly. Once cooled, add the sugar and mix it well.
  4. Make small poories from the maida and fill the stuffing to make the modaks.
  5. Deep fry on a medium flame.
  6. Serve them warm.

My Tip:

The dough should be the way you make for Pooris. The stuffing should be cooled completely.
