ABOUT Chocolate Tarts RECIPE

A flour base tart baked and filled with dark and rich chocolate topped with almonds

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 400g Dark or Milk Chocolate
  2. 250g Flour
  3. 200g Caster sugar
  4. 180g Butter
  5. 100g Almonds or walnuts
  6. 120ml Double cream
  7. 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Mix 120g Butter with 120g Sugar in a food processor and combine well.
  2. Add the egg and blend well.
  3. Add in the flour along with little water to make a dough.
  4. Knead the dough on a well floured surface. Cover and let it rest for 30 mins.
  5. Preheat oven to 180 degree c. Grease mini tart tins.
  6. Roll out the dough as thin as possible and with a large cookie cutter or any round disk cut 10 small round disk .
  7. Line the tart tins with the pastry dough. Refrigerate for 15-20 mins.
  8. Bake the tart pastry until they become golden, for 10-12 mins.
  9. Gently remove them from the tin and let them cool.
  10. Melt the chocolate, butter, cream and sugar in a bowl (heatproof) over a pot of boiling water.
  11. Pour this ganache into cooled tart cases and top with crushed almonds or walnut.
  12. Refrigerate and serve.
