Ingredients Serving: 7

  1. All Purpose Flour 2 cups
  2. Sugar 1/2 cup
  3. Salt- a pinch
  4. Oil 1/3 cup
  5. Instant yeast 2 tsp
  6. Milk 1/2 cup + 3 tbsp for brushing on top
  7. For the Filling:
  8. Coconut 1/2 cup
  9. Tutti fruity 1/3 cup
  10. Glazed Cherries 10
  11. Sugar 1/4 cup
  12. Cardamom powder 1 tsp
  13. Honey 2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Take the all purpose flour, sugar, salt, oil and yeast in a mixing bowl. (If using dry yeast, activate it before adding. I have added instant yeast directly to the flour. )
  2. Heat milk until it's little warm, add the flour in little by little and knead into a sticky dough. Cover and keep it aside for an hour until the dough rises and doubles in size.
  3. Meanwhile we can prepare the stuffing. Take the coconut and sugar in a blender and blend into a coarse mixture.
  4. Then transfer into a bowl and add the tutti fruity, chopped cherries, cardamom powder and honey. Mix it well.
  5. Line a baking tray with parchment paper and grease it with oil. Once the dough is raised, punch it well to release the air and knead it well.
  6. Divide the dough into small portions. Take one portion and roll into a small circle, keep a teaspoon of the stuffing in the middle and pinch all the edges towards the center to cover the stuffing.
  7. Roll into a smooth bun. Repeat this for the remaining portions. Arrange them in a baking tray and keep it covered until it rises a little.
  8. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees celsius, after the bun raises a little, brush the top with milk and bake it for 25-30 minutes until the top turns brown in colour.
  9. Once done, brush the top with milk. The soft, yummy sweet buns are ready. Enjoy it with a cup of tea!
