ABOUT Chicken Porcupine RECIPE

I made this snack for a dinner party. The theme was rice and dal, so I used rice here to make it colourful. It was really very tasty.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Boneless chicken 250 gm
  2. Garam masala 1 tsp
  3. Ginger and garlic paste 1 tsp
  4. Green chilli paste 1/2 tsp
  5. Black pepper 1 tsp
  6. Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  7. Cornflour 1 tbsp
  8. Lemon juice 1 tsp
  9. Food colour red and yellow 1 tsp
  10. Salt to taste
  11. Rice 1 cup
  12. For the chutney:
  13. Coconut 1 cup
  14. Boiled tomato 1
  15. Roasted chana dal 1 tbsp
  16. Green chillies 2
  17. Garlic 2 cloves
  18. Black pepper 1 tsp
  19. Lemon juice 2 tsp
  20. Chat masala 1 tsp
  21. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken with ginger and garlic paste overnight. The next day, grind the chicken and make a keema of it.
  2. Mix all the masala and cornflour into the chicken and make it smooth. Also, boil the rice, then drain the water and keep it aside to cool.
  3. Divide the rice into equal parts. In one part, mix in the yellow colour and in the other part the orange colour. Wet your hands and make small round pieces with the chicken mixture.
  4. Roll some in the orange rice and some pieces in the yellow rice.
  5. In a steamer put in all the chicken balls and steam it for 20 mins.The porcupines are ready now.
  6. To prepare the chutney, add in all the ingredients mentioned and grind it to form a mixture.
  7. Serve the chicken porcupines with this chutney.
