ABOUT Beet Rice RECIPE

Beetroot is low in fat, full of vitamins and minerals.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Beetroot chopped and boiled 1 cup
  2. Rice 2 cups
  3. Onions chopped 1 cup
  4. Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  5. Biryani masala 1 tsp
  6. Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  7. Curry leaves 8-10
  8. Green chillies chopped 3
  9. Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  10. Ginger chopped 3 tbsp
  11. Garlic chopped 2 tbsp
  12. Water 2 cups
  13. Coriander leaves 3 tbsp
  14. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan, then add in the mustard seeds, cumin seeds, biryani masala, curry leaves, turmeric, green chillies, ginger, garlic and onions. Saute till it turns translucent in colour.
  2. Add in the boiled beetroot, rice, salt and water. Then cover and cook at a low heat till the water is absorbed.
  3. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
