Ingredients to make Chocolate fruit cake

  • Refined flour 2 cups
  • coco powder 2 tablespoon
  • Mixed dry fruits chopped 1/2 cup
  • Tutti frutti chopped 1/2 cup
  • Candied peel chopped 1/2 cup
  • eggs 3
  • Brown sugar 1 cup
  • Baking powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • baking soda 1/2 teaspoon
  • cinnamon powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • buttermilk 3/4 cup
  • oil 1/2 cup
  • honey 1 tablespoon
  • Few blanched almonds for decoration

How to make Chocolate fruit cake

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degree centigrade.
  2. Break eggs into a bowl and beat with a hand blender.
  3. Add brown sugar and continue to beat till sugar dissolves.
  4. Sift refined flour, coco powder, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon powder into the egg mixture and mix lightly.
  5. Add buttermilk and mix with the blender.
  6. Add oil and blend again.
  7. Add tutti-fruity, candied peel, dry fruits and mix with a light hand.
  8. Add honey and mix.
  9. Pour the batter into greased cake 9 inch tin.
  10. Decorate it with blanched almonds.
  11. Bake it in the preheated oven for 45 - 50 minutes or till it is done.
  12. Let it cool before de molding.
