Chatpattey Coconut Kebab

Ingredients to make Chatpattey Coconut Kebab

  • 3 carrots
  • 2 potatoes
  • 100 gm spinach
  • 50 gm coriander
  • 3 Green chilli
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tsp Red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Red chilli, crushed
  • 1 tsp fenugreek seeds
  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 cup refined flour
  • 300 gm coconut, desiccated
  • For Pinenut sauce:
  • 3 tbsp pine nuts
  • 2 tbsp ginger chopped
  • 100 gm mint
  • 2 tbsp cornflour

How to make Chatpattey Coconut Kebab

  1. Boil all the vegetables and mash well. Put all the spices and mix again.
  2. Make tikkis of the mixture. Coat them first with a mixture of whisked eggs, refined flour and then in desiccated coconut.
  3. Finally pan fry them and serve them with pine nut sauce.
  4. For the sauce: Crush the pine nuts. Add ginger, mint and red chilli and crush together. Cook by adding a little water for 5 minutes.. Add cornflour for thickness. Cool and then serve.

My Tip:

Add little pomegranate to the pattey for a flavour twist.
