ABOUT Coconut Laddu RECIPE

Coconut Laddoo – A festive recipe to make for neivaidhyam . shredded coconut cooked in sugar syrup givesa wonderful taste for this laddu.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Coconut – 1 cup(shredded)
  2. Sugar – ½ Cup
  3. Ghee – 1 tsp
  4. Cardamom/Elaichi powder – ½ tsp
  5. Food colour(yellow) – a generous pinch (optional)

Instructions

  1. Grate the coconut without blacks and keep it aside. I mean don’t grate it to the bottom.
  2. Heat a wok , pour a tsp of ghee,then add coconut and sugar together.
  3. Stir well till the sugar completely melts. Now add the crushed cardamom(Elaichi/ Yelakai) or powdered one and the yellow food color.
  4. Once it starts to thickening, switch off the flame and let it cool to hand touch resistant temperature.
  5. Then pinch a small portion and make small laddoos(balls) using your palm.
