Tried some new stuffing in a regular samosa, turned out delicious.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Ingredients for the dough:
  2. 2 1/2 cup maida
  3. 1/4 cup oil
  4. 1/4 cup suji
  5. 1 tsp salt
  6. Lukewarm water as required
  7. For stuffing:
  8. 2 - 3 boiled potatoes
  9. 1/2 cup dry roasted peanuts
  10. 1/2 cup boiled and mashed corn
  11. 1/2 cup dry roasted, chopped dry fruits
  12. Dry roast 1 tbsp sabut dhaniya
  13. 1 tsp cumin seeds/jeera
  14. 5-6 black pepper
  15. 1 big cardamom/ badi elaichi
  16. 1 tbsp funnel seeds/ moti saunf
  17. 1 tbsp amchur powder
  18. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  19. Salt to taste
  20. Oil for deep frying

Instructions

  1. First prepare the dough and keep it to rest for 15-20 minutes.
  2. In a kadai, add a little oil, add chopped beans, carrots, ground roasted peanuts, ground all the dry roasted masalas. When the beans and carrot are almost cooked, add mashed corn and add one by one all the ingredients. Combine well, and at the end add amchur, red chilli and salt. Cook for a few more minutes and turn off the gas.
  3. Let this stuffing cool down completely. Make medium size balls of the dough and roll them in a long oval shape, cut them from the middle, giving a 'D' shape.
  4. Make a thick paste of 1 tbsp maida and water. Make a cone of the D shaped dough and fill it with the cooled stuffing. Stick all the sides properly with maida - water paste.
  5. In a deep wok, add oil and heat on medium low flame. Deep fry these samosas till golden in color. Serve them hot with any sauce or chutney.
