Meatball Curry in coconut milk

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Minced Mutton 1/4 kg
  2. 2 tbsp besan flour
  3. 1 tsp chilli powder
  4. 1/4 tsp turmeric
  5. 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  6. 1 green chilli
  7. For Gravy: Onion 2
  8. Tomato 3
  9. 2 tsp chilli powder
  10. 1/2 tsp turmeric
  11. 2 tsp coriander powder
  12. 1/2 inch cinnamon stick
  13. 2 cloves
  14. 1 bay leaf
  15. 2 cardamom
  16. 1 cup thin coconut milk
  17. 2 cups thick coconut milk
  18. curry leaves a few
  19. 1/2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  20. 2 tbsp ghee
  21. 1 tsp garam masala
  22. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, add minced mutton, besan flour, salt, green chilli finely chopped, chilli powder, ginger garlic paste, turmeric and mix well. Make balls and keep aside for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat the pan, add oil and ghee. When oil is hot, add bay leaves, cinnamon stick, cloves and cardamoms, saute for 2 minutes.
  3. Add finely chopped onions, stir for 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Add finely chopped green chilli, stir and add ginger garlic paste. Fry till raw smell evaporates.
  5. Add chilli powder, dhaniya powder and turmeric. Stir well for 2 to 3 minutes.
  6. Add finely chopped tomato and salt to cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Sprinkle some water and cook on a low flame.
  7. Add 1 cup thin coconut milk, slowly drop the mutton balls and do not disturb, cover and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes.
  8. Stir gently, then add 2 cups thick coconut milk and cook for 5 to 10 minutes.
  9. Add garam masala, stir and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes. Garnish with coriander leaves.
  10. Serve hot with roti, naan or rice.
