ABOUT Thenga Maanga Soya Sundal RECIPE

Thenga Manga Soya Sundal is a slight variation to the beach side peas sundal which we get in chennai. Soya beans is combined and cooked with raw mango, fresh coconut, chili powder and curry leaves. The dish gets a nice flavor since we temper the sundal with coconut oil and mustard.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Soya Beans – ½ cup
  2. Mango – 1/2 cup
  3. Cocunut – I tblsp heaped
  4. Turmeric – ¼ tsp
  5. Chili Powder – ½ tsp
  6. Curry leaves - few
  7. Salt – to taste
  8. Chopped Onion - 1/2 cup

Instructions

  1. Soak soya beans overnight.
  2. Pressure cook for 5 whistles as it is very hard. Strain the water completely.
  3. Take a Pan, heat a teaspoon of coconut oil in it and add hing. Immediately add mustard seeds, allow to splutter.
  4. Immediately add cooked and strained soybeans and raw mango.
  5. Add chili powder, salt, curry leaves, and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Lastly, add coconut and immediately switch off.
