Coffee Coconut Barfi

Ingredients to make Coffee Coconut Barfi

  • mawa 3/4 cup
  • Powdered sugar 1/2 cup
  • Dry descicated coconut 2 tablespoon
  • Instant coffee 2 teaspoon
  • cardamom powder 1 teaspoon
  • Little ghee for greasing

How to make Coffee Coconut Barfi

  1. In a kadhai, heat mawa for about 2 minutes on a medium heat.
  2. Mix in powdered sugar. The sugar will melt and make the mawa a bit soft. Mix for another 2 minutes on medium heat.
  3. Remove it on a plate. Mix in cardamom powder and divide the dough into 2 equal parts.
  4. Mix desiccated coconut in one half and instant coffee powder in the other half. If possible try to sift coffee powder before mixing so that you get fine coffee powder and it won't stick while biting.
  5. Keep kneading both the halves separately, until coconut is well mixed in one half and coffee powder in the other. Before kneading, grease your palms with a little ghee.
  6. On a butter paper (wax paper also called parchment paper) take one half and roll it like a chapati with a rolling pin. You might need to grease the rolling pin with ghee so that the dough doesn't stick to it.
  7. Repeat for the other half on the other butter paper.
  8. Place the coffee flavored rolled disc on top of the coconut flavored one and try making the roll.
  9. Refrigerate for about 10 minutes. Remove and cut into one inch thick burfi pieces.
  10. Store in the refrigerator and remove after 30 minutes before serving.
