ABOUT Rose coconut barfi RECIPE

One of the most commonly made barfi during festivals. Fresh rose gives it wonderful colour and texture.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 2 cup dried grated coconut
  2. 3/4 cup sugar (Powdered)
  3. 1/4 cup ghee
  4. 1 cup Mawa
  5. Fresh rose petals for red colour or red food colour
  6. Dry rose petals 1 cup
  7. 1 tsp chopped pistachio
  8. 1 tsp chopped almond
  9. 1 tsp cardamom powder

Instructions

  1. In a bowl mix coconut and sugar. Keep aside for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat a non stick pan on a low flame. Melt some ghee and add in the coconut + sugar mixture.
  3. Stir for 5 minutes.
  4. Add mawa to it. Mix it well and stir it for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add fresh rose petals or rose extract. Add in red food colour if using, just a few drops.
  6. Add cardamom powder. Mix.
  7. Grease a tin then pour mixture in it.
  8. Garnish with chopped pistachios and almonds.
  9. Sprinkle some dry rose petals on top.
  10. First cut into pieces then let it completely cool down.
