Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For the Filling :
  2. 100 gms plain dry/desiccated Coconut
  3. 1/2 tin Condensed Milk(nearly 200 gms)
  4. 1 tsp vanilla essence
  5. For the coating :
  6. 2 cups broken cooking milk chocolate (use Morde)
  7. OR
  8. 2 bars Cadbury Dairy Milk Silk - plain
  9. 2 tsp coconut oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare the filling : Take the desiccated Coconut in a bowl and add the Vanilla essence.Pour over the condensed milk and mix well. There will be just enough milk to bind the Coconut into a ball.
  2. Take a small square tray or container preferably glass. If using plastic use the freezer safe containers and brush them with 1 tsp oil.Pat the coconut mixture into the containers ensuring a 1/2 inch breadth of the mixture for even bars.
  3. Freeze 5 - 6 hours or overnight!
  4. Tempering the chocolate : Prepare a double boiler - Take 2 vessels one bigger than the other.Boil water in the smaller one and keep the bigger one over it ensuring that the water does not touch the base.
  5. Add the chocolate broken into small pieces into this bowl and add the coconut oil.The chocolate will melt slowly.Once melted whisk it well and take off heat.
  6. Coating the bars : Take out the coconut filling from the freezer and cut it into uniform bars of approx 1 1/2 inches.Line the base of the freezer container with some baking or parchment paper.
  7. With the aid of 2 forks lower into the bowl of tempered chocolate and coat to cover the bar completely. If desired some chopped nuts can be pressed on top.
  8. Keep the prepared bars on the baking paper. After coating the bars, close the container and freeze again till the chocolate has set on the bars. They peel off the parchment paper very neatly! Serve!
