Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Drumstick - 4 big size
  2. Moong dal/ Tuvar dal - 2 tbsp
  3. Tomatoes - 3
  4. Garlic - 2 (Optional)
  5. Pepper powder - 2 tsp
  6. Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  7. Lemon - 1
  8. Salt - as needed

Instructions

  1. In pressure cooker, add Murungakkai pods (From one or two Murungakkai), two tbsp of pasi paruppu (split moong dal), one big onion, three tomatoes, coarse powder of pepper cumin seeds, crushed garlic , turmeric powder, water and salt.
  2. Pressure cook everything for three whistles. After it all cools down, mash everything, you can even pulse it in a mixer and filter it.
  3. Boil it adding more water, add butter and lemon extract after turning off the flame and serve. (I added half cup of milk too, but it is optional).
  4. For variation, you can make paste of corn flour and milk powder. Add at the last step and allow to boil. Turn off the flame and then add lemon juice and serve.
