ABOUT Moong Dal Chilla RECIPE

Moong dal chilla is a Rajasthani special dish and very easy to make. In many ways they prepare it, I love this chilla very much even more than others.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Split moong dal - 2 cups
  2. Green chillies - 5
  3. Ginger - one inch piece
  4. Garlic - 5 pods
  5. Salt - as needed
  6. Curry leaves - few
  7. Coriander leaves - few

Instructions

  1. Soak split moong dal over night. Next day grind it along with ginger, garlic, green chilies, consistency should be like an idli batter. Add any vegetables of your choice. I have added grated carrot and cooked green peas.
  2. Add salt, curry leaves, coriander leaves and mix well. Prepare the chilla by pouring the batter so as to form a thick circle.
  3. Smear oil all around it, when one side is cooked, turn it onto its other side and then remove from fire. Serve hot.
