Ingredients to make Poha Puttu

  • Aval or poha - 1 cup
  • coconut - 1/4 cup
  • ghee - 1 tsp
  • salt - little pinch
  • water - as needed

How to make Poha Puttu

  1. Roast poha in a teaspoon of ghee. Powder it coarsely in a mixie. Add a pinch of salt. Sprinkle water little by little and mix it till you can hold puttu in hand in shape.
  2. Add in the coconut and salt.
  3. Steam it in puttu maker or even in idli mould till set.

My Tip:

Sprinkling water gradually as it is very important, even little excess water will spoil the result.
