Ingredients to make Coconut creamy pattu style chicken curry

  • chicken -500gms
  • coconut freshly scrapped - 1/4 she'll,
  • poppy seeds - 2tsp,
  • clove -1,
  • cardamom -1,
  • onion -1 sliced into four,
  • ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp,
  • cinnamon -1/4 inch,
  • curry leaves, - 1 stem,
  • coriander powder -2tsp,
  • chilli powder - 2tsp,
  • salt as per taste,
  • turmeric powder a pinch
  • oil -2 tsp,
  • water - 1 cup

How to make Coconut creamy pattu style chicken curry

  1. Dry roast coconut, clove, cardamom, cinnamon, onion, poppy seeds, and grind it along with ginger garlic paste to make a paste adding a little water.
  2. Heat oil in a pressure pan, add the grounded paste of coconut and fry on a moderate flame till the rawness of the masala leaves, now add the cleaned chicken to it along with coriander, turmeric, chilli powder and salt.
  3. Fry the chicken on a low flame till the oil oozes out, now add a cup of water and cover the lid pressure cook till the chicken is done soft (For 2 whistles)
  4. Serve the gravy hot with soft steaming idlis.
