ABOUT Lauki ki dhokli RECIPE

I have learnt this recipe from my maternal aunt - it is a steamed dish, healthy and very yummy. Easy to make, anytime snacks.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Bottle guard - 1
  2. Besan - 100 gm
  3. Ajwain - 1/2 teaspoon
  4. Heeng - a pinch
  5. Salt as per taste
  6. Red chili powder as per taste
  7. Curry leaves a few
  8. Mustard seeds a few
  9. Oil - 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. First wash and peel the bottle gourd, finely chopped and strain the water with the help of pressing with hands.
  2. Mix besan, salt, red chili powder, ajwain and hing in lauki. Mix well. You will get a thick dough like batter.
  3. Make small equal balls from this tight batter and keep them in the steamer and steam it for 15 minutes on a medium flame.
  4. In a tadka pan, heat oil, crackle mustard seeds, curry leaves and spread this tadka on lauki dhoklis. Serve hot.
