Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Overnight soaked Chick peas 2 cups
  2. Onions chopped 1 cup
  3. Tomatoes chopped 1/2 cups
  4. Ginger chopped 1 tbsp
  5. Garlic chopped 1 tbsp
  6. Hing a pinch
  7. Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  8. Cumin powder 1 1/2 tbsp
  9. Coriander powder 2 bsp
  10. Pomegranate seeds powder 1 tsp
  11. Dried methi leaves 2 tbsp
  12. Chat masala 1 tsp
  13. Cinnamon stick 1 inch
  14. Black cardamom 3
  15. Bay leaves 2-3
  16. Onion sliced 1 small
  17. Tomato sliced 1 small
  18. Green chillies cut in halves 4-5
  19. Degi mirch 1 tsp
  20. Garam masala 1 tsp
  21. Oil 3 tbsp
  22. Salt to taste
  23. Coriander leaves 1 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Cook chana with salt in a pressure cooker till done, drain excess water and keep aside.
  2. Heat oil, add hing, black cardamom, cinnamon, bay leaves, degi mirch, turmeric, pomegranate seeds and chopped ginger, garlic.
  3. Add chopped onions, saute till translucent. Add chopped tomatoes and saute till the oil separates.
  4. Add sliced onions, tomatoes, green chillies, garam masala, methi leaves and chana.
  5. Adjust salt, add cumin powder, coriander powder, chat masala and coriander leaves. Mix and cook for 5-7 minutes.
