ABOUT Palak/Spinach Puri RECIPE

Palak Puri is one interesting dish which I have learnt from my mother. On every school picnic my mom use to give me this puri along with pickle. And my friends used to also love it alot. Now I make successful approximate attempts to make this dish for my son who also loves to eat this puri.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Spinach 2 cups
  2. Wheat flour 2 cups
  3. Besan 1/2 cup
  4. Rava/Sooji 1 tbsp
  5. Curd 1/4 cup
  6. Green Chillies 4 to 5 (depending on the level of spice desired)
  7. Garlic 8 to 10 cloves
  8. Ginger 1 inch
  9. Salt to taste
  10. Warm oil as required

Instructions

  1. Wash the spinach nicely and put it in the mixer container. Add Ginger,Garlic, Green chillies to the mixer container and make a fine paste(put very little water if needed)
  2. In a bowl mix wheat flour, besan, rava and salt. Sieve the flour.
  3. Add curd to the flour and mix it. Add the Spinach/ Palak mixture to the flour and knead the dough till soft.
  4. Divide the dough in equal parts and roll it in round shape of 5 inch to form puris.
  5. Heat the oil in the wok or kadai and fry the puris from both the sides till golden brown and crisp.
  6. Serve hot puris with curd, any pickle or Potato Sabji.
