Palak Paneer

Ingredients to make Palak Paneer

  • spinach 2, bunches
  • paneer 1/2 kg, diced
  • onions 1 cup, finely chopped
  • tomatoes 1/2 cup, finely chopped
  • green chillies 3, chopped
  • ginger 1 tsp, chopped
  • cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • Garam masala 1/2 tsp
  • oil 2-3 tbsp
  • sugar 1/3 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • cream 3-4 tbsp (Optional)

How to make Palak Paneer

  1. Wash and cut spinach coarsely then pressure cook till 1 whistle, open immediately. Let it cool, then blend till smooth.
  2. Heat oil, add cumin seeds, ginger, onions, turmeric and saute till translucent.
  3. Add tomatoes, saute till the oil separates.
  4. Add palak,salt, garam masala and cook for about 2 to 5 minutes.
  5. Add in cream and sugar.
  6. Add paneer and mix in for just a minute, turn off the flame.

My Tip:

No need to add water in cooker as spinach itself will release water. Don't overcook after adding paneer or else paneer will become too chewy.
