ABOUT Fajitas RECIPE

Grilled meat usually served as a closed taco on a flour or corn tortilla in Mexican cuisine.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. 450g Chicken Strips
  2. 8 Flour/wholewheat Tortillas warmed
  3. 2 cups Lettuce grated
  4. 2 cups Cheese (any) grated
  5. 3/4 cup Sour Cream
  6. 1/4 cup Vegetable Oil
  7. 1 Tomato chopped
  8. 3 tbs Vinegar
  9. 1/2 tsp Sugar
  10. 1 tsp Chili Powder
  11. 1 tsp Oregano
  12. 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  13. 1/2 tsp Salt
  14. 1/4 tsp Pepper
  15. 1 1/2 cup Tomato sauce
  16. 1/2 tsp Chili powder
  17. 1 1/2 tsp Cumin powder
  18. 1 tsp Garlic
  19. 2 tbsp Vinegar
  20. 1 tsp Honey
  21. 1/4 tsp Cayenne Pepper

Instructions

  1. Mix oil, vinegar, sugar, chilli powder, oregano, garlic powder,salt and pepper along with chicken.
  2. Toss to coat. Cover with a plastic bag and refrigerate for 4 hours.
  3. Mix tomato sauce, chilli powder, cumin powder, garlic, vinegar, honey and cayenne pepper in a jar, shake well to make taco sauce
  4. Now place the chicken under a grill and cook till done on both sides or saute in a pan with little oil.
  5. Place about 1/2 cup chicken down the center of each tortilla.
  6. Top with lettuce, cheese, tomato, sour cream and taco sauce.
  7. Fold in sides of tortilla and serve immediately.
