ABOUT Biscuit rotti RECIPE

This is one of my family's favourite tea time snacks. It can be preserved for 2-3 days. Ideal option while travelling.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. For stuffing masala :
  2. Grated coconut - 1 cup
  3. Besan - 1 cup
  4. Red chilli powder - 1 tbsp
  5. Jeera - 1 tsp
  6. Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Hing as per your taste
  9. Curry leaves chopped - a few
  10. For Dough:
  11. Wheat flour - 2 cup
  12. Salt to taste
  13. Other Ingredients:
  14. Water for making dough
  15. Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Take a bowl. Add salt, red chilli powder, hing, jeera, coconut and besan. Mix well. Season with mustard and curry leaves.
  2. Sprinkle a few drops of water to make a dough. Then add little oil for smooth finishing. Make equal sized balls and keep aside.
  3. Now take another bowl and make poori dough. The dough should neither be too hard nor too soft.
  4. Make equal sized balls of this dough. Take one ball. Flatten it using a rolling pin. Keep one stuffing ball. Fold it and roll it again into poori size.
  5. Repeat the process for other pooris too.
  6. Take a kadai. Heat oil. Deep fry pooris till crisp.
  7. Serve hot with coffee.
