ABOUT Maharashtrian Dahi kadi (Thakachi kadi) RECIPE

Dahi kadi is very popular reciepe abd very easy to make. Its a very faous dish in North India. My entir family loves kadi and have learnt to make this kadi from my mother.

Ingredients Serving: 7

  1. 1/2 kg sour curd (i have have used amul dahi)
  2. 2.5 tsp besan / gran flour (roasted)
  3. 1 tbsp grated Ginger
  4. 1/2 tbsp jeera
  5. 1/2 tbsp hing
  6. 1/2 tbsp turmeric powder (haldi)
  7. 4 green chillies (slited)
  8. 1 kadi patta sprig
  9. 3TBSP OIL
  10. 1 tbsp ghee
  11. 2 tsp coriander leaves ( finely chopped)
  12. Salt to taste
  13. 1.5 cup water

Instructions

  1. Churn the curd along with roasted gram flour and water.
  2. Heat the oil and add jeera seeds, asafoetida powder, sprig of kadipatta, green chilies and grated ginger for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Then add the curd-besan mixture, turmeric powder and salt.
  4. Let it come to a boil on a high flame.
  5. Once it starts boiling, slow don the gas and continue boiling for another 5 mins
  6. Garnish with finely chopped coriander. Add one tbsp of ghee over it and serve with hot steamed rice
