About Rava Ladoo Recipe

There is just something very satisfying about biting into a textured ladoo. Coconut, rava and bits of dry fruits make this one of the most delicious Indian sweets.

Rava Ladoo

Ingredients to make Rava Ladoo

  • Sooji coarse rava or semolina - 1 cup
  • Cardamon pods - 5 (crushed)
  • Icing sugar - 3/4 cup
  • Desiccated coconut powder - 1/3 cup
  • ghee - 1/4 cup
  • cashews - 3 tblsp (Chopped)
  • raisins - 2 tbsp
  • a pinch of salt
  • Hot milk to moisten the laddus only

How to make Rava Ladoo

  1. Start by roasting the cashews in ghee. As they turn brown remove from heat and set aside. Do the same process with raisins. Set aside.
  2. In the same pan add ghee and keep the flame on low. Add in the sooji and begin roasting by stirring continuously.
  3. Roast till fragrant and the colour changes to golden brown. Keep stirring to roast evenly.
  4. Toss in the roasted nuts, coconut, cardamom and sugar. Keep stirring for another 3 minutes. Take off the heat.
  5. Drizzle some milk, to be able to make a golf ball sized laddus. Make sure you pack them tightly but with a gentle hand.
  6. Keep aside to cool before serving.
