Ingredients to make Chocolate Cake Book

  • wheat flour 1 cup
  • powdered sugar 3/4 cup
  • Cocoa powder 1/3 cup
  • baking soda 1/2 tsp
  • Baking powder 1 tsp
  • Cooking oil 1/3 cup
  • yoghurt or curd 1 cup
  • Vanilla Essence 1 tsp
  • Pinch of salt
  • For ganache:
  • Choco chips 1/2 cup
  • Whipping cream 1/2 Cup
  • For making book pages:
  • White chocolate 1/4 cup
  • For decoration: coloured sugar tubes

How to make Chocolate Cake Book

  1. Sieve wheat flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt and baking powder together.
  2. In a mixing bowl, add cooking oil, powdered sugar and vanilla essence and mix well.
  3. Now add the dry ingredients in batches and mix well.
  4. Now add yogurt and little water to it. Mix all the ingredients with hand mixer till it becomes light and fluffy.
  5. Now pour the batter into a greased square baking pan.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven for 35 to 40 minute and test with tooth pick if it comes out clearly then it is done.
  7. Take out and cool it on wire rack.
  8. Cut the cake into square shapes and keep aside.
  9. Now prepare ganache.
  10. Add chocolate chips and whipping cream in a vessel and cook it for 3 minutes, mix well.
  11. Keep aside and cook it.
  12. Now pour the prepared ganache on cake on both sides and level it.
  13. Melt the white chocolte in microwave and apply it on 3 side edges of the cake with help of spoon like white pages.
  14. Finely decorate with colouring sugar tubes or according to your choice.
