Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Instant cooking oats 1 cup
  2. Rice flour 1/2 cup
  3. Sooji 1/4 cup
  4. salt as per taste
  5. Carrot grated 1/4 cup
  6. Capsicum grated 1/4 cup
  7. Ginger 2 inches chopped into fine pieces
  8. Green chillies 4 chopped finely
  9. Onion 1 cup finely chopped
  10. Pepper 1 table spoon
  11. Beaten Curd 1 cup
  12. Kasuri methi 1/2 table spoon (optional)
  13. Tomato 1 medium finely chopped
  14. Jeera 1 table spoon
  15. Coriander leaves 1 bunch finely chopped
  16. Oil to shallow fry
  17. Water sufficient to make the batter

Instructions

  1. Mix all the ingredients except oil, kasuri methi and water.
  2. Mix well & add water if required.
  3. In a non stick pan, add oil, the batter and top it with kasuri methi. If you need, you can top up with extra pepper for extra spiciness.
  4. Cover with a lid and let it cook on medium and turn it.
  5. Let it cook for few more minutes.
  6. Your oats utappa is ready.
