Makhana Lauki Kheer

Ingredients to make Makhana Lauki Kheer

  • Full cream milk 1 1/2 ltr
  • Makhana 150 gm
  • bottle gourd or lauki grated 500 gm
  • Desi ghee or clarified butter 2 tbsp
  • sugar 1 cup
  • Dry fruits chopped 3/4 cup
  • Green cardamom powder 1 tsp

How to make Makhana Lauki Kheer

  1. Fry makhana till light golden in 1 tbsp ghee.
  2. Fry lauki in 1 tbsp ghee till light brown.
  3. Keep aside.
  4. Boil and cook the milk on low to medium heat for half an hour.
  5. Add makhana and lauki and cook.
  6. Until they becomes soft and milk is thick.
  7. Add sugar and cook on high heat for 10 minutes.
  8. Add cardamom powder and dry fruits and remove from gas.
  9. Cool in fridge in summers and garnish with dry fruits.
  10. Enjoy.
