Lauki Halwa

Ingredients to make Lauki Halwa

  • lauki or bottle guard 1 kg grated
  • sugar 3/4 cup
  • Milk 1 1/2 cup
  • Khoya 3/4 cup
  • Dry fruits chopped 1/2 cup
  • Green cardmom powder 1 tsp
  • coconut dry grated for garnish
  • Desi ghee 2 tbsp + 2 tbsp

How to make Lauki Halwa

  1. Heat 2 tbsp ghee, add lauki.
  2. Fry till it becomes golden.
  3. Add milk and cook until thick.
  4. Stirring continuously.
  5. Add sugar again and cook till sugar is absorbed.
  6. Add crumbled khoya and cook till it thickens.
  7. Add 2 tbsp ghee and cook.
  8. Add dry fruits and cardmom powder.
  9. Mix and remove from heat.
  10. Garnish with coconut
  11. Serve hot and enjoy.
