This is my favorite sweet from Rajasthan.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Moong daal - 1 cup
  2. Homemade khoya - 1 cup
  3. Ghee - half cup
  4. Sugar - 3/4th cup
  5. Water - half cup
  6. Cardamom - half tsp
  7. Almonds - few
  8. Saffron threads - few

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak moong daal for two hours.
  2. Grind the dal paste, make paste thin.
  3. Roast the dal paste on medium flame in half cup ghee till daal color changes to brown and you feel aroma of paste.
  4. Then add khoya to roasted paste and mix well. Switch off the gas.
  5. Take another pan and heat sugar and water on medium flame to make tar less sugar syrup.
  6. Now keep aside the sugar syrup, after few minutes add cardamom powder and saffron threads in sugar syrup.
  7. Now add sugar syrup to daal khoya mixture, switch on the gas at low flame and mix it well, garnish with almonds and switch off the flame.
