ABOUT Bread Gulab Jamun RECIPE

Bread gulab jamun is an alternative to the regular gulab jamun but is equally tasty. An instant, easy and quick recipe.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Bread 8 slices
  2. Milk 1 cup
  3. Sugar 1/2 cup
  4. Cardamom 3 pods crushed or use 1/2 tsp powder
  5. Water 1 cup
  6. Cashewnuts and almond 2 tsp chopped
  7. Oil for frying the jamuns

Instructions

  1. Take the bread slices and trim off the edges of the bread slices.
  2. Dip them in milk, squeeze off the excess milk and put it in a blender.
  3. Pulse it for few secs and grind it to a smooth and lump free paste.
  4. Now make small balls out of it.
  5. Heat oil in a deep frying pan.
  6. Simmer the flame and drop the balls and fry the them in low flame till golden. Please do not over fry it or else it wont absorb the syrup.
  7. Remove this to a paper towel and set aside.
  8. To make the sugar Syrup, add the water in a pan. Add sugar, cardamom and bring it to boil.
  9. Boil it untill it reaches the sticky stage and the Syrup thickens which will take around 5 mins or little more.
  10. Now drop the fried jamuns in the hot syrup and cover it.
  11. Let it rest for atleast 1-2 hours before serving.
  12. Garnish with chopped cashewnuts and almond and serve as it is or with a dollop of icecream.

but these gulab jamuns are so delicate that it's very difficult to lift it up by a spoon...
