ABOUT Burger for Fasts RECIPE

We can enjoy our fasting days as well while eating vrat ka burger which is made from Samo rice and sabudana pan cake and aloo tikki.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1/2 cup Samo rice
  2. 1/2 cup sabudana
  3. 1 Cup water
  4. 1 tsp green chili paste
  5. 12 tsp ginger paste
  6. 1 tsp sendha salt (Salt for fasting) or as required
  7. Ghee or oil for cooking
  8. For Aloo Tikki:
  9. One boiled Potato
  10. 1 tsp green chili paste
  11. 1/2 tsp ginger paste
  12. 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
  13. 1 tsp sendha salt
  14. 1 tsp roasted peanut powder
  15. Ghee or oil for cooking
  16. 4-5 small size Paneer piece
  17. 3-4 Cucumber slices
  18. For green chutney:
  19. About 1 cup Cilantro or coriander leaves
  20. 1 roughly chopped green chili
  21. 1 tsp Ginger paste
  22. 1 tsp sendha salt
  23. A Pinch of Black Pepper
  24. 12 tsp Lemon Juice
  25. For garnishing:
  26. pomogrenate seeds
  27. one tomato slice
  28. one cucumber slice
  29. 2 tbsp thin yogurt/curd
  30. 12 tbsp sugar

Instructions

  1. Soak sabudana and samo rice for an hour. Wash and drain after an hour.
  2. Now grind sabudana and samo rice together with 1/2 cup water in a grinder. (If you think it is little thick you can add more water). Take out batter in a bowl.
  3. Batter consistency should be like dosa or pancake batter.
  4. Add green chili and ginger paste, salt into batter and mix well. Add 1/2 cup water or as required and mix well.
  5. Now heat skillet on the gas. Add 1 tbsp oil/ghee, when the skillet is hot then then take 3 tbsp batter and spread on the skillet as a pancake (small in size).
  6. Now spread little ghee and cook this pan cake for 3-4 minutes on medium gas. Then flip it and cook it again 3-4 minutes then flip again. It will take 10-12 minutes to cook completely.
  7. Prepare other pancake as above.
  8. In a bowl, add mashed potato, green chili, ginger paste, salt, black pepper, peanut powder and mix well.
  9. Grease your palm and make small pattie or tikkis.
  10. Heat the skillet (Tawa). Place the tikkis on the skillet on medium heat. Put some oil on the tikkis. Cook it for some time (2 minutes approx) then turn them, put some oil on it and cook them.
  11. Turn again and again until tikkis become golden brown and crispy. Tikkis should be cooked on medium flame (it will take 12-15 minutes approximately).
  12. Now for chutney, in a grinder add cilantro leaves, green chili, ginger, salt, black pepper, lemon juice and 1/4 cup water and grind, make green chutney.
  13. In a bowl, add curd and sugar and mix well.
  14. Now assemble the burger.
  15. Take one pancake and place tikki over it, spread one tsp of sweet yogurt. Then spread paneer slices and one cucumber slice on the paneer. Spread little green chutney and cover with another pancake.
  16. Take a toothpick and put in the middle of burger and cover with cucumber and tomato slice.
  17. Serve with green chutney and garnish with some pomegranate seeds.
