Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1/4 cup Singhara atta (water chestnut flour)
  2. 2 large potatoes
  3. Vrat ka namak or regular salt as per taste
  4. 1 tsp Grated Ginger
  5. 1 tsp chopped green chillies
  6. 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
  7. 1/4 tsp degi mirch powder
  8. 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  9. Water as needed
  10. oil to fry

Instructions

  1. Peel potatoes, wash and pat dry them.
  2. Cut the potatoes into small cubes. Set them aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, add the cubed potatoes, degi mirch, black pepper powder, chopped green chillies, chopped coriander leaves and grated ginger. Mix well.
  4. Add Singhara atta. Add water as needed to make a pakoda like batter. Mix well.
  5. Heat oil in a wok.
  6. Once the oil is hot, reduce the heat to medium.
  7. Add salt to the batter now. Mix well.
  8. Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the oil and fry until golden brown and crisp.
  9. Remove on tissues to absorb extra oil.
  10. Serve hot with tea.
