Ingredients to make Apple Maple & Pecan Bread

  • 1 cup + 3 tbsp whole wheat flour
  • 3/4 cup Plain flour (maida)
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • Pinch of nutmeg
  • 3/4 cup maple syrup
  • 2/3 cup plain yogurt (mixed with tbsp of milk)
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted and lukewarm
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs lightly beaten
  • 1 cup grated apples
  • 3/4 cup coarsely chopped pecans
  • Few whole pecans for garnish
  • Dash of cinnamon powder
  • Raw colored sugar for garnish

How to make Apple Maple & Pecan Bread

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F (180 Deg C) and lightly butter a loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk flours, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg thoroughly.
  3. In another bowl, combine syrup, yogurt, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla. Whisk well. Mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients.
  4. Add grated apples and chopped pecans. Fold until just combined.
  5. Spoon batter in the prepared pan. Arrange whole pecans in any fashion. Sprinkle cinnamon powder and sugar on top.
  6. Bake for 40-50 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Remove pan from oven and cool the loaf for 20 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool thoroughly.

My Tip:

Substitute pecans with walnuts.
