ABOUT Ginger Egg Drop Soup RECIPE

This Chinese soup does wonders for you when you have sore throat, a sip of this soup soothes your throat.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Ginger - 1 medium size 2 inch piece, chopped finely or grated
  2. Egg - 2 whisk well and keep aside
  3. Chicken stock or maggi chicken cubes - 1
  4. Spring onion - chopped finely
  5. Turmeric - 1 tsp (optional) you can do this when you have sore throat
  6. Olive oil - 1 tbsp
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Black pepper as per taste
  9. Corn flour - 1 tbsp (optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil water in a big pot, add grated ginger and boil for sometime. Add chicken stock, corn flour mixed with water (if using), chopped spring onion, turmeric, black pepper and salt, boil for sometime.
  2. Start adding whisked eggs slowly to the soup but stir continuously using the other hand to form a thread from egg.
  3. Pour little olive oil if you wish to.
  4. Serve hot.
