Gulab Jamun

Ingredients to make Gulab Jamun

  • mawa - 250 grams
  • paneer- 100 grams
  • maida- 3 tbsp
  • ghee or oil for frying
  • For syrup- sugar- 3 cups
  • water-1 and 12 cups water
  • elaichi powder - a pinch

How to make Gulab Jamun

  1. For syrup Heat water and sugar together in a pan .
  2. Add Elaichi powder
  3. Let it come to a boil and let sugar get dissolved completely .
  4. Cook for 4-5 minutes .
  5. Remove from flame and let it cool and strain the syrup .
  6. For jamuns Knead mawa, paneer and maida to a soft dough . If you find it too dry add a spoon of milk to it .
  7. Let it rest for 10 minutes
  8. Now make small equal sized balls . ( remember once you put them in the sugar syrup it's size will enlarge )
  9. Heat ghee in a kadahi
  10. Drop one ball into it to check that it doesn't break . Incase it does add a little more maida .
  11. Now one by one fry them on medium to low flame to get an even colour all over . Remove from kadahi and transfer them into sugar syrup .
  12. Let them remain in the syrup for 1-2 hours and then serve .

My Tip:

Use a food processor ( kneading attachment ) to knead the dough
