ABOUT Gulab jamun RECIPE

Soft,spongy and melt in mouth gulab jamuns drenched in sugar syrup is a traditional sweet in India.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Mawa - 2cups grated
  2. All purpose flour - 4tbsp
  3. Milk powder - 3tbsp
  4. Sugar - 2cups
  5. Water - 1cup
  6. Ghee for Deep Frying

Instructions

  1. For sugar syrup :-
  2. Combine sugar and water in a deep pan.Cook on a medium flame and cook till it reaches one string consistency.
  3. Keep the syrup warm.
  4. For gulab jamun:-
  5. Combine mawa,all purpose flour and milk powder in a bowl and knead well to make a smooth dough.
  6. Divide the mixture into equal portion and make round balls ensuring there are no cracks.
  7. Heat the ghee in a pan and deep fry till they turn brown in color from all the sides.
  8. Drain and immerse in the syrup.
  9. Repeat with the remaining gulab jamuns.
  10. Soak the gulab jamuns in the syrup for atleast 2 hours.
