ABOUT Aish Al Saraya - Lebnani Bread Pudding RECIPE

Delicious flavored middle eastern pudding flavored with rose water for any festive occasion.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 8 tsp sugar
  2. dash of water to soak sugar
  3. 1 glass water
  4. 1 tbsp natural rose water
  5. 1 cup Milk
  6. 2 heap tbsp cornflour
  7. 1/2 tin condense milk
  8. 1 tsp natural rose water
  9. 1 tsp orange blossom water ( optional)
  10. 6 -7 Bread slices ( stale or fresh)
  11. Garnish :Crushed pistachio , Fresh rose petals (opt)

Instructions

  1. For Sugar syrup:In a pan, pour sugar with dash of water.Cook on medium flame till u get the desired caramel color.Remove from flame & add water. Sugar will turn hard at this point. Put again the pan on the flame & cook till it has dissolved
  2. For Clotted cream: Mix together milk and cornflour.Add in condense milk. Mix. Put on the medium flame and cook till thick .Remove from flame & add natural rose water & orange blossom water.Cover with cling film & keep aside.
  3. Cut the edges of the bread and crumble the bread by hand or food processor Spread evenly on the dish as shown in the picture.
  4. Assembly for the above 3 steps Step 1 : Caramelized Sugar syrup Ste[ 2: Clotted Cream Step 3: Pan with bread crumb Garnish: Crushed pistachio, Fresh rose petals (opt)
  5. Sprinkle all over caramelized sugar syrup on crumbled bread. Rest for about 10 minutes.Pour over the prepared ashta. Cover with cling film and refrigerate for few hours. garnish with crushed pistachio & rose petals. Cut into slices & serve.
