This halwa is crazily famous in souther part of India , Tamilnadu. People love this halwa like crazy and its traditionally made with particular wheat and taste so good.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Sambha wheat- 1 cup
  2. Sugar -21/2 cup
  3. Ghee- 1 cup
  4. Cashews-1/4 cup

Instructions

  1. Soak this Sambha wheat for 12 hours and extract 1 cup of milk from this and filter it.
  2. Sieve it through a strainer and let it sit undisturbed for 1 hour. Now throw away the water which floats on top as bubble and keep the milk safe.
  3. Add 1/2 cup water and 1 cup sugar and caramelize it to dark brown in color. Add then add this thick milk extracted from wheat and add 2 more glasses and keep stirring for 20 mins
  4. Once it gets thicken add ghee every 15 mins and keep stirring without removing your hands.
  5. After 40 mins add cashew and keep stirring . When the halwa stops sticking to the pan and starts to ooze the ghee remove it from pan and let it rest for 15 mins. Serve it hot and enjoy.
