Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Onion ... 1 (medium size - sliced)
  2. Tomatoes .. 2 (medium size - chopped)
  3. Curry leaves .. few
  4. Dry red chillies .. 4-5 ( as per your taste)
  5. Turmeric powder ...1/4 teaspoon
  6. Salt ... to taste
  7. Oil.... 2 -3 tablespoons
  8. Mustard seeds .. 1 teaspoon
  9. Asafoetida .... a pinch
  10. Urad dal .... 1/2 teaspoon
  11. Dry red chillies .. 1
  12. oil... 1 tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add the dry red chillies.
  2. Now add the sliced onion and saute for half a minute.
  3. Tip in the chopped tomatoes, curry leaves, turmeric powder and salt. Stir and simmer for one minute.
  4. Meanwhile heat oil in a small pan and add the tempering ingredients. When they crackle, switch off the gas.
  5. Now the chutney will be done. Cool and grind it.
  6. Remove it in a dish and stir in the prepared tempering.
